BIOGRAPHY
Carole-Anne Roussel is a Canadian soprano acclaimed for the purity and flexibility of her voice, as well as her natural stage presence. A finalist at the 2023 Queen Elisabeth Competition in Belgium and recipient of the prestigious Prix d'Europe (2021), she has been mentored by renowned Canadian soprano Hélène Guilmette and was an artist-in-residence at the Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel under the guidance of José Van Dam and Sophie Koch.
She holds a Master's degree with distinction from the Conservatoire de musique de Québec. Her operatic highlights include Micaëla (Carmen), Donna Anna (Don Giovanni), Norina (Don Pasquale), Leïla (The Pearl Fishers), and Barbarina (Le Nozze di Figaro with the Montreal Symphony Orchestra).
An active concert soloist, Carole-Anne has performed with leading ensembles in Canada, Europe, and Asia, including the Quebec Symphony Orchestra, Montreal Symphony Orchestra, National Repertory Orchestra, Royal Chamber Orchestra of Wallonia, Vlaams Radiokoor, Korean National Symphony Orchestra, and La Monnaie Orchestra.
Recipient of numerous awards and scholarships, she is recognized for the elegance of her interpretations, her artistic precision, and her authenticity.
